The happy workplace is always the home of the productive workplace, filled with a lot of talent around. Millennials being part of this productive workplace are transitioning from process-centric interface to consumer centric self-service interfaces. One of the functional areas which are involved in this eco-system is IT support. At Thoughtworks, we realized that this transformation to self-service based economy for IT hardwares could be achieved by “Perimeter based indoor tracking”. From a technology perspective “BLE based IOT infrastructure”, covered by a creamy layer of “AI” forms the enterprise sustainable solution. In this talk, I will detail the “BLE based Indoor perimeter ecosystem” which helps us to track and maintain IT assets thus providing a 99% data accuracy and ~60-80% of manpower cost savings.

Most of the cities of the worlds are facing the issue of pollution at a large scale, Indian cities are also on the list. Several monitoring and mitigation steps are being taken by the government and regulatory bodies for solving them but the issues remain the same and most of the time it is increasing day by day. Since this is the technology era where users and society uses IT tools at large for issue resolution. Therefore, many researchers have already started to utilize the latest technological tool for solving environmental problems. Internet of Things(IoT) is one of the emerging tool where it can help the users and researchers to monitor the surrounding pollution condition on real-time basis.
With IoT market set to cross $500 billion by 2021, all wireless communication standards are rapidly evolving to capture a large pie of the IoT market. IoT has a plethora of wireless communication standard to choose from, each cut out for a specific application. There has been recent advances in the wireless communication standard for WLAN, BT, cellular etc to mould it into a IoT enabling technology. The talk gives a technical perspective of how these technologies are evolving to enable more and diverse IoT applications.

We would like to propose a talk titled “Demystifying IoT skills : What does it take to become a FullStack IoT engineer?”.IoT has somehow become the “six blind men” story where everyone is interpreting in their own perspective. Some may say IoT as “old wine in a new bottle” others may say “it is the next big thing”. Given this scenario, as an electronics / embedded / core engineer, the challenge is always been: How to interpret IoT from skills perspective? What additional skills an electronics engineer should have in order to have a career in this domain? How different Embedded and IoT job profiles are? What role protocols play in IoT? The proposed talk is based on our years of market research and delivering IoT based education programs for various customer segments – Fresh Engineers, Corporate Organizations and Working professionals.
